Founded to strengthen trade and investment ties between Uganda and the United Kingdom, British Chamber of Commerce Uganda (BCCU) has quickly become a vibrant platform for business collaboration, innovation, and opportunity. Led by Ugandans, connected globally, and committed to making a difference in Uganda, BCCU is shaping a future where business drives inclusive development.
Over the past year, BCCU has hosted high-level networking events such as the tax event in partnership with EY, an imports and exports to the UK event, and a UK Visa and Immigration event. BCCU has also provided a trusted space for dialogue between business and government. With Uganda’s youthful population and entrepreneurial spirit, BCCU believes the country is poised for transformative growth.
H.E. Lisa Chesney MBE, honorary President of the BCCU and British High Commissioner to Uganda said: "We are part of a global movement that means business. And my government is pushing all of us to be engines of growth – not just in the UK but here in Uganda too. Growth requires partnership. Partnership between government and business, between nations and networks. The UK is committed to economic renewal, technological innovation, and global collaboration. The British High Commission’s work to support mutual growth and prosperity, and our support for the Chamber will not stop."

The British Chamber of Commerce Uganda (BCCU) is a member-driven organisation dedicated to promoting trade, investment, and collaboration between Uganda and the United Kingdom. Through strategic events, advocacy, and partnerships, BCCU empowers businesses to grow, connect, and make a lasting impact.
Established in August 2024, the Chamber has rapidly expanded to 41 members representing 17 diverse sectors including agriculture, engineering, green technology, fintech, and tourism - some of the fastest-growing areas of Uganda’s economy.
Collectively, BCCU members represent over 20,000 jobs within the Ugandan economy, with more than 19,000 of these held by Ugandans, underscoring the Chamber’s contribution to inclusive economic growth.
BCCU is proud to be part of the British Chambers of Commerce (BCC) global network, comprising 75 international chambers worldwide. Membership with BCCU provides access to an extensive ecosystem of businesses, policymakers, and opportunities.
Key partners include the Private Sector Foundation Uganda, Uganda Revenue Authority, Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development, Uganda Investment Authority, Trademark Africa, and other Chambers of Commerce across Uganda. Together, these collaborations strengthen BCCU’s mission to build a vibrant, connected, and prosperous business community between Uganda and the UK.
