Standard vs Express Documents via the eCert System

As we continue moving towards a more digital approach to document processing, now is a good time to refresh your understanding of the difference between Standard and Express applications within the eCert system.
Standard Applications
These should be used when your customer requires a wet stamp and original signature on the document. Please note:
-
This is a more time-consuming and costly process.
-
Delivery is reliant on Royal Mail unless you arrange for a courier to collect.
Express Applications
These are appropriate when your customer does not require an original signature. Key benefits include:
-
Certificates of Origin can be printed by you in colour.
-
EUR1s are printed on the official stationery we can supply.
-
This is a more efficient and cost-effective method.
We strongly recommend confirming with your customer whether they will accept a digitally stamped document. Many exporters who have defaulted to standard applications for years are often surprised to find their customers are happy to accept a digital version—especially when time is of the essence.
Exceptions
Please note: EUR1s must not be digitally stamped for the following countries:
Egypt, Iceland, Lebanon, Israel, Switzerland, Serbia, Norway, Liechtenstein, and Tunisia.
