The United Arab Emirates Ministry of Foreign Affairs has recently launched their new electronic legalisation platform, eDAS 2.0. This platform is for the digital attestation of documents relating to goods being imported into the UAE.
This attestation is restricted to the following documents:
• Arab British Certificates of Origin
• Commercial Invoices
eDAS 2.0 allows only the consignee in the UAE to upload these documents. Companies registered in the UAE must register using the following link.
As a result, all Certificates of Origin and commercial invoices for the UAE will now be processed as certification only by the Essex Chambers of Commerce and the Arab-British Chamber of Commerce, and the responsibility of Iegalising the Arab British Certificate of Origin & commercial invoice will fall on the consignee in the UAE.
The process for all other types of documentation remains unchanged and will continue to be processed as certification and legalisation by the Essex Chambers of Commerce, Arab-British Chamber of Commerce and United Arab Emirates Embassy.
If you have any queries regarding the implimentation of this new platform, please contact us.
